Hitachi, Ltd. is a Japanese multinational conglomerate founded in 1910 by Namihei Odaira. Originally an electrical repair shop within the Kuhara Mining Plant in Hitachi, Hitachi became independent in 1911, moving its headquarters to Tokyo in 1918. Today, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Hitachi's operations span a vast range of industries, including digital systems and services, green energy and mobility, and connective industries, encompassing power systems, railway systems, healthcare products, and financial systems, among others.
